Meet the Peggy Hammond the founder of ABC Nurse Registry
Peggy Hammond is a Registered Nurse that has practiced nursing in the Broward and Miami-Dade county for 30 years. As the founder of ABC Nurse Registry, she recognized that the community needed a service that focused on the elderly remaining in their home. ABC Nurse Registry was founded in 2003. From 2003 we have referred caregivers to hundreds of satisfied clients.
I was born in the place where everyone wants to be in the winter - Miami, Florida. My father was in the military and was killed in WW2, and like many children I was raised by my grandmother who was "my everything", who I miss every day. I attended Miami-Dade College, University of Miami, and Barry University. I have practiced nursing in the Miami area for over 30 years. My main areas of practice are Intensive Care Unit and Surgery. I have 4 sons, 11 grandchildren, all in the South Florida area.
In 2003, I recognized that elderly residents were commonly placed in Assisted Living Facilities and Nursing Homes.
According to the National Institute of Aging, a common statement that older people make is "I want to stay in my own home!"
The good news is, that with the right help, you might be able to do just that.
